CERAMIC SHELL MOLD CASTING TECHNOLOGY

POLLUTION-FREE PIG IRON ORE

In order to make safe and healthy ironware for families, Taku uses “Ceramic Shell Mold Casting (AKA Lost Wax Casting)” procedure, the same technology of making aircraft engine blade and artificial joints, instead of the traditional sand casting.
Traditional sand casting uses river sand and it can be reuse over and over, hence it is difficult to control the source and the cleanliness of the river sand quality.
In Taku, we use refined ceramic materials to produce our products that needed to have the quality of high precision and strength. Compare with sand casting products, ours present elegant and detailed surface texture.
During the modeling procedure, Taku makes great effort to coat these materials on product model over and over for 7 times exact, while remaining in the constant temperature and humidity environment for drying setting. Each ceramic model only produces once and never reuse again to ensure each individual product maintains the best quality.

Casting of iron takes 2552 degrees Fahrenheit to smelt the pig iron ore. Due to the cost consideration, the majority of manufacturers use the recycle scrap iron as their raw materials
In TAKU, we believe the quality of our raw materials is one of the most important factors. We research our suppliers worldwide and import from Brazil, Russia and South Africa with the certification of material test and no radiation emission.
During the production process, the quality is also closely ensured to provide our customers healthier consciousness as well as safety usage.

PRACTICAL DESIGNS WITH SCIENTIFIC ANALYSIS
>> LIGHTER WEIGHT WITH DURABILITY <<

QUALITY ENSURED EVERY STEP OF THE WAY

Traditional sand casting products are not to deal with cold water when they are hot, or taking the risk of cracking. In TAKU, we use “Lost Wax Casting” procedure to create our products. It makes high density structure and durability to endure the sudden change of temperature.
TAKU’s engineering design reduces our overall product thinness at 2.5 mm (0.0984 inches), and yet increases the bottom thickness to 4 mm (0.157 inches). By doing so, not only our products come with lighter weight compare with other competitors, but also remain one of the distinguishing features of cast ironware – heat retention and thermal conduction to make the water and food taste smoother and flavorful.
We studied ancient cast iron history and learned that Japanese technique is to not applied any paint on the inside (layer) of the cast ironware. That way, when boiling water, the inside of the teapot can leach Fe2+ into the water. It is a dose of dietary iron we need in our human body and also the water, the soup and the food tastes better. On the outside, we take an additional step by simply applying a natural lacquer to preventing from rust. And this chemical-free coating makes our cast ironware look blue grey.

TAKU’s pig iron ore consists 95% of iron, 3% of carbon (C), 2% of silicon (Si). It is to be the perfect combination for casting ironware. Before each smelting, the material is sampled with inspection by a spectrometer. That ensures there is no heavy metal contained.
There is a dedicated production line for just our cast ironware. Throughout the entire production process, each station follows quality assurance as well as quality control standards. This is to ensure TAKU delivers the highest quality of cast ironware to our families and friends.

SUPPORT LOCALS, THOROUGH COMMITMENT

UNIQUE WITH COLLECTIBLE VALUE

In TAKU, we use chemical-free, natural lacquer from organic plants on ALL products, in order to deliver our healthy and safe commitment to families and friends. With the coating of the natural lacquer, our products display a traditional elegant satin black style.

TAKU’s artisans focus on creating every individual “One and Only” piece one at a time. The amount of energy and effort putout makes each one of them so unique and extraordinary. You can see that from their craftsmanship on our collectible series. Not only this series emerges a rich Chinese heritage design, but also expresses Taiwan culture and spirit.
